CTP 7 - Future of Corporate Governance
2020 was a tumultuous year where many businesses were forced to adopt new operating models. Corporate governance practices were also impacted, with AGMs and board meetings going virtual, and dividend policies cast aside amidst looming uncertainties. Calls for more sustainable business practices and better stakeholder engagement have increased the pressure on boards and senior management. As the economy recovers, corporate governance practices must evolve to better suit the new normal.
This session will explore fundamental corporate governance practices, such as oversight and access to information, board membership and performance, and engagement with shareholders and stakeholders; and how these practices are expected to evolve while leveraging on digital and technological capabilities.
Course Objectives
- Share new enablers for corporate governance practices.
- Explore the influence of digital enablers on board membership and dynamics.
- Explore new and resurfaced topics that have become more prevalent post-Covid.
