MCD 1 - Boards and Political Networks (C)
Shareholders, boards, CEOs and other executives interact to decide: Who gets what? When? How? Decisions on shareholder dividends, bonuses for senior executives, and investments in innovation play out as a balance of power between the different actors. Corporate governance and compliance with regulations requires skilful navigation of political networks.
This session draws on INSEAD research to explore some of the key challenges board directors face in exercising their political power. Using conceptual frameworks of political dynamics, the module highlights the value of professional networks in the creation of social capital and effective influence. Directors will learn how to use toolsets to manage and improve their professional networks for greater impact and influence with their stakeholders.
