HIGHLIGHTS

Dear Members,

As we step into a new month filled with opportunities for growth and connection, we’re delighted to share with you some exciting updates and initiatives.

Firstly, join the launch of SID Director Accreditation programme on 10 May 2024. If you didn’t manage to get a seat at the event due to limited capacity, please do join us via Livestream on SID’s LinkedIn page from 10am onwards.

Don’t miss the fireside chat with Guest-of-Honour Minister Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Finance and National Development, moderated by Wong Su-Yen, immediate past chair of SID.

The accreditation exam in October will be opened for registration, following the launch event. You can also sign up for an online preparatory course for the exam. Passing the exam will lead to your SID accreditation credential, enabling you to chart your professional development pathway and signal your commitment to high professional standards as a board director.

After months of preparation, we will be launching the SID Fellows network at the Fellows Evening on 7 May 2024. The network, helmed by SID Fellow and former Council member Robert Chew, aims to build a community of SID Fellows (by invite only) to support one another as well as the Institute’s mission. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to KPMG for their generous sponsorship of the Fellows Evening this year.

We have also established the Workplace Wellness network. This network is led by Kitson Leonard Lee and brings together members with an interest in wellness at the workplace, including mental wellbeing. SID members can join this and other networks at no cost by indicating their interest in their SID member account (under the Profile tab).

For those interested to secure their spots at the SID Directors Conference on 1 October 2024, we have launched a new ticket category exclusive to members. The Super Early Bird is priced at $480 (close to 50% off the regular price) with limited tickets for members. Book your place here.

Meanwhile, don't miss out on the chance to expand your professional network at our networking event on 16 May 2024. Engage with like-minded individuals and forge meaningful connections that can propel your career.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce a number of new benefits associated with the upcoming Listed Entity Director (LED) programmes scheduled for July and October 2024.

For a limited period, completion of all nine LED modules will entitle you to a waiver of the accreditation exam fee and earn you the exclusive Corporate Governance Guides for Boards set. Graduates of the LED programme will also receive complimentary access to our quarterly regulatory updates as well as priority access to the Audit and Risk Seminar in January 2025 by ACRA, SGX and SID.

As we embark on this journey of growth and development together, I encourage each of you to actively participate in these initiatives and seize the opportunities that lie ahead.

Your engagement is integral to the success of our community, and together, we will continue to drive excellence in corporate governance.

Yours in directorship,
