NBC - NonProfit Board Conversations (NEW)

Note : Classroom sessions will resume in 2021.
Course Description The NonProfit Board Conversation series was initiated to encourage sharing and learning on topics of interest and impact to boards and directors. The closed-door sessions are held every quarter, focusing on issues relevant to the board.

Each Board Conversation will be hosted for one of the following areas:

NBC1: Board/CEO.
NBC2: Audit and Risk.
NBC3: Nominations/Human Resource.
NBC4: Finance and Investment.

For each Board Conversation event, about a dozen chairmen will be invited to discuss a specific topic in a roundtable setting over a meal.
The NonProfit Board Conversation series is hosted by SID in collaboration with a partner organisation.
Course Objectives
  1. Provide a convivial setting for peer chairmen to learn and engage in a relevant topic of interest and value.
  2. Enable participants to further contribute to the development of board thinking and practices of NPOs in Singapore.
Course Outline A main topic based on a current hot governance issue, will be the focus for each event. The specific topic will depend upon the group of chairmen and the prevailing issues of interest. The theme is curated by SID in consultation with the partner organisation.

Each event will usually begin with a presentation on the selected topic and a series of discussion points followed by facilitated dialogue amongst the peer chairmen.

Board chairmen, chairmen of board committees of nonprofit organisations (NPOs).
