CHAIR & CEO MESSAGE

Dear Member,

Since 1998, the Singapore Institute of Directors has been empowering board directors to champion good governance. Our work in the years to come will remain relevant as we help board directors tackle questions such as:

  • How will a multi-polar world impact decisions in the boardroom?
  • What are impending changes in the regulatory landscape that directors need to be aware of?
  • What does it take to be an effective director of a listed company, high-growth venture, charity or family business?
  • How can directors prepare for a cyber attack and navigate crisis communications minefields?

Be part of SID Directors Conference 2023

With the theme “Navigating an Unscripted World: Conform, Perform, Transform”, this year’s SID Directors Conference on 20 September 2023 at the Esplanade Theatre aims to address precisely these questions and more. Join over 900 apex-level attendees to gain insights from more than 80 speakers across six interactive zones. Take advantage of the “choose your own learning adventure” format and interaction opportunities to expand your perspectives and professional network.

This conference is specially curated For Directors, By Directors. If you still haven’t booked your seat, now’s your last chance to act.

Planning to attend with other members of your board or management team? Do consider coming on board as a Silver Sponsor. As we close off sponsorship for the conference next week, we have a limited number of Silver Sponsorship opportunities remaining. Each Silver Sponsorship will entitle your organisation to four complimentary conference passes and recognition as a supporter of our mission to enhance the directorship profession and promote good governance. Don’t miss this avenue to reaffirm your commitment to driving positive change and showcase your organisation to an audience of decision-makers.

Know someone who might benefit from this conference? Forward this newsletter to them! We believe in the power of connections and are excited to welcome new faces to our community.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming events

Aside from the conference, we have more learning and networking events planned over the next couple of months:

  2. SID Directors Bulletin – Q3 Edition: Access the latest insights in the Q3 edition: The Future of Money and look out for the Q4 edition coming out next month.

At SID, we continue to look for ways to increase our value to our members, such as bringing more stakeholders into SID’s ecosystem through the SID Governance for Good Alliance, launching the SID Accreditation Framework (which will go LIVE in January 2024), and partnering with NCS to build the prototype of a generative AI-powered contextual search engine for members to have their questions on directorship and governance answered in natural language format.
