HIGHLIGHTS

Dear member,

The Singapore Institute of Directors started 2024 on a productive note with the month of January seeing a number of important events and activities:

  • The signature Audit and Risk Committee Seminar (attended by over 300 members) in partnership with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority and Singapore Exchange (SGX).
  • A special briefing on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard in partnership with Centre of Governance and Sustainability at National University of Singapore, with the support of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and SGX.
  • The initial phase of eligible SID members going through the process of claiming their accredited director or senior accredited director credentials.
  • Kick-off meetings for SID committees and chapters, some newly-established. We welcomed fresh faces among the more than 100 SID volunteers and look forward to new initiatives and ideas to advance our members’ training and experience.
  • An appreciation event for Council members who had stepped down from the 2023 SID Council. Special thanks to former SID Chair Wong Su-Yen, and past Council members Junie Foo, Philip Forrest, Theresa Goh and Poh Mui Hoon for their unwavering support and dedication to the Institute over the years.

Our thanks also to Community Chest Singapore for their token of appreciation to SID for raising more than $250,000 for the Charities Capability Fund.

While February is a short month with the Lunar New Year holidays around the corner, members can look forward to developing themselves professionally through So, You Want to be a NonProfit Director and Board and Director Fundamentals and attaining the Qualified Listed Entity Director certification.
