Singapore Management University, the knowledge partner of Climate Governance Singapore, together with the Centre for Climate Engagement at Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge and the Climate Governance Initiative, is hosting one of the first international conferences to discuss how corporate governance and law can drive climate action on boards.

Speaker Bios
Emily Farnworth is Director of the Centre for Climate Engagement at Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge. She has over 25 years of experience working with businesses, governments and non-profit organizations to support the transition to a low-carbon economy. She was previously the Head of Climate Initiatives at the World Economic Forum where she was involved in setting up the Climate Governance Initiative (now hosted at the Centre for Climate Engagement), the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, the Mission Possible Partnership and the Natural Climate Solutions Alliance. She is a member of the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition Advisory Group, a member of Brightstar Capital Partners Advisory Council and a member of the University of Cambridge Sustainability Committee. Emily holds a Masters in Environmental Science, Management and Law from Brunel University London.
Shai Ganu is in the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) committee at SID. He is the global leader of the Executive Compensation and Board Advisory business at WTW. He leads a team of over 500 exceptional consultants across 40 countries, who are trusted advisers to clients on issues related to board and executive compensation, board effectiveness, ESG and sustainability strategies, and human capital governance. He has extensive experience working closely with C-suite, boards, remuneration committees, nomination committees and sustainability committees of more than 100 leading companies across the region. He serves on the boards and human resource committees of leading companies and not-for-profit organisations in the region.
Simon Learmount is Professor of Corporate Governance at Judge Business School and Fellow of Pembroke College, University of Cambridge. He has served as Director of the MBA and Executive MBA Programmes at Cambridge, and is recipient of the Pilkington Prize, awarded to honour outstanding teaching across the University. His core academic interests are international corporate governance, sustainable business practice and ethics (especially in the US, UK, Japan and China), digital governance (including cyber-security and AI), as well as leadership & management development (especially for Boards of Directors). He currently serves as co-chair of the World Economic Forum Climate Governance Expert Committee, and is Shimomura Fellow at the Development Bank of Japan. He consults to and teaches international banks, companies and other organisations – principally at board level - in the areas of climate and digital governance, sustainability and green transition, risk management, leadership and ethics.
Mrs. Wong Ai Ai's career with Baker McKenzie spans a range of landmark transactions for blue-chip clients, to global leadership roles, including serving as a member of Global Executive Committee and chair of the Asia Pacific region.During Mrs. Wong's leadership tenure, the Firm built an aggressive transactional strategy that saw its transactional teams secure industry leading mandates and win many accolades across the world. She was also instrumental in the development and implementation of the Firm's ESG/sustainability strategies. As a transactional lawyer, Mrs. Wong is recognised as an eminent practitioner for corporate/M&A matters by publications including Chambers Asia Pacific, Legal 500 Asia Pacific and IFLR1000. Outside of Baker McKenzie, Mrs. Wong is a board member of Singapore Tourism Board and a strong advocate for, and former chairman of, the Yellow Ribbon Fund, the first national charitable fund devoted toward the development and implementation of rehabilitation and reintegration programs for ex-offenders.
Ms Wong Su-Yen serves on the boards of several public, private, and not-for-profit organisations in Singapore and overseas. She chairs or is a member of various Nominating, Remuneration and Audit Committees. She is Chairperson, Nera Telecommunications, and a director at Yoma Strategic Holdings, First Resources and CSE Global. Ms Wong brings experience in business strategy, human capital development and organisation transformation, across North America and Asia. She is the only Asia-based individual named to the Financial Times’ Agenda Directory of Top 100 Board Candidates with Pay-Setting Skills. She is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and Women Corporate Directors.
