Strengthening board pathways

Dear Members,

Directorship is a journey of continuous learning and impact. This month, we celebrate many recent milestones while opening new pathways for directors to connect and lead with confidence.

Celebrating milestones
SID Lifetime Membership pins were presented to members last month in recognition of their longstanding commitment to SID. We celebrated our Silver Jubilee at the 25th SID Golf Tournament at Sentosa Golf Club, which brought together directors, business leaders and partners for a day of camaraderie and competition.

Our flagship Board Readiness Programme (BRP) has just seen its third cohort graduate and registration for the next cohort, beginning in September 2026, is now open. We also held the final in-person session of the SGOOD 2.0 Programme 2025-26 which brought together over 120 nonprofit leaders for reflection and peer exchange.

Listed Entity highlights
In our push towards building strong communities, our LED Exchange Forum has been launched as a new community of practice. The inaugural Qualified Listed Entity Director (QLED) Badge was awarded, recognising those who have completed SID’s listed entity training pathway. And we successfully ran the first session of the LED Module 10: Board Strategy for Value Up, aligned with the MAS–SGX Value Unlock initiative

Community events
As part of our Accredited Directors Series, accredited directors attended an exclusive session hosted by SID in partnership with Temasek’s Ecosperity Week 2026 on Climate Governance in Focus. We also partnered with IMD Business School, where Professor Ben Bryant introduced the Five Leadership Muscles framework to our member community. View upcoming sessions here.

In addition, we hosted our second Corporate Members Appreciation evening, which offered our corporate members and partners a chance to connect, exchange perspectives and explore deeper collaboration.

Upcoming opportunities
Look out for two upcoming Current Topic webinars, which are complimentary for members. The topics include Board in Strategy: The 2026 Strategy Brief for Directors on 17 June and Rates and Engagement with Advisory Boards, with insights on remuneration benchmarks in the largest global study by Advisory Board Centre, on 29 June.

Our upcoming in-person Pit-Stop sessions will add practical insights, with Internal Audit in Transition on 1 July exploring how internal audit is evolving, and How Search Firms Work in Board Selection on 16 July examining how organisations identify and appoint directors.

The SID Art Chapter will host Nowhere Like Home, a private film screening and networking evening on 18 June. On 22 June, we will be launching the inaugural Singapore Workplace Report with Gallup, graced by Minister of State Dinesh Vasu Dash. And from 25–27 June, the Vietnam-Singapore Board Forum – SID’s first overseas conference – will gather directors and C-suite leaders to exchange ideas on AI, green capital, sustainability and cross-border growth in Ha Long Bay.

Directorship pathways
July marks the launch of the SID–IoD Accelerated Certificate in Company Direction (13–18 July), hosted for the first time in Asia. This six-day programme offers participants access to both the SID accreditation and the IoD’s Chartered Director pathways.

Our flagship Listed Entity Director Programme (7–14 July) and LED Bridging Programme (May–October), which provide essential training for aspiring directors of Singapore listed companies, are also open for registration.

SID Boardroom Matters
Why responsible forward-looking disclosures matter

As global reporting standards emphasise long-term value creation, sustainability and strategic resilience, companies that can articulate a credible outlook are better positioned to build trust and strengthen confidence with thoughtful stakeholder engagement. After all, the market may forgive bad financial performance, but investors and the public rarely forgive poor disclosure.
