SPEAKERS

Frank Koo
Founder and Director, Nextplay
Mr Frank Koo is a qualified trainer and coach and focuses on developing leaders with the right mindset, skills and commitment to excel in their work and life. Mr Koo currently serves on the board of the Institute for Human Resource Professionals and the National Integration Council. He is also a member of the Corporate Member Engagement Committee of SID. Prior to that, Mr Koo was the Head of Asia at LinkedIn and responsible for LinkedIn’s Talent and Learning business. He also held leadership roles in BE Education (Chief Operating Officer), Pearson Education (President of Learning Solutions) and Oracle (Managing Director for Singapore and South Asia).

Wong Su-Yen
Immediate Past Chair, SID and Chair, James Cook University
Ms Wong Su-Yen is an experienced board chair and independent director who has served for over 15 years on the boards of multiple listed, family-controlled, private equity-held, government-linked and not-for-profit organisations in Australia, Asia and the US. She chairs or is a member of various nominating, remuneration and audit committees, and has experience in business strategy, human capital development and organisation transformation. She is chairperson of James Cook University Singapore, lead independent director at SGX-listed Yoma Strategic Holdings, and independent director at CSE Global and First Resources. She also serves on the board of Kemin Industries, and is a director of the Infocomm Media Development Authority. She is an adjunct professor of leadership at the National University of Singapore Business School, and an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Dhirendra Shantilal
Council Member, SID
Mr Dhirendra Shantilal is a global business leader with a career spanning over four decades in talent acquisition, human capital and workforce management. He has held senior leadership and board roles at Kelly Services and Fircroft, where he oversaw international business operations. He serves on the board of Learning Initiative Asia and is a strategic adviser to TG Group, Franchising and Licensing Association (Singapore), Singapore Manufacturing Federation’s Secretariat management committee and Nanyang Technological University’s Career Advisory Office. He has served on the boards of Singapore’s National Library, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the Qatar National Library and the Children’s Museum under National Heritage Board. He is deeply committed to nurturing future board leaders and talent.

Ooi Huey Tyng
Council Member, SID
Ms Ooi Huey Tyng is a transformative leader and business builder with over 30 years of expertise in banking, fintech and payments technology. She is an independent director on multiple boards spanning listed, regulated and educational organisations, including AIG Asia Pacific Insurance, Maxis Bhd, Raffles Institution, Singapore Institute of Management and Food from the Heart. She also serves on the SID Council. Ms Ooi was the Regional MD and GrabPay Head, where she pioneered GrabPay across SEA and served on various joint venture boards for GrabPay and GrabInsure in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. Before that, she was Visa’s country manager for Singapore and Brunei and held senior positions at Citibank, DBS and UOB. She also served on Singapore’s subcommittee of the Future Economy.

Yau Siew Choi
Independent Director, University of Newcastle Australia
Ms Yau Siew Choi is an independent director and senior financial services leader with 30 years of experience across Asia in profit-and-loss management, business innovation, and risk strategy. She serves on the University of Newcastle Australia’s Singapore board and is building a career spanning board directorships, leadership advisory and executive coaching. She has held regional leadership roles at AIG and AXA, and led Swiss Re’s Asia Pacific digital innovation venture. She mentors through the SID Board Readiness Programme, serves on SID’s women directors and nonprofit chapters, and is committed to shaping board leadership to strengthen corporate culture and diversity.
