FAQs on SGOOD Programme

Q: Who is SGOOD for?
A: SGOOD is designed for governing board members, sub-committee members and senior management of exempt and registered charities and Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs), as well as individuals who are interested in learning the fundamentals of non-profit board directorship.

Q: Do I need to complete both Part 1 and Part 2 of the programme to receive the SGOOD Certificate of Completion?
A: Yes. You must complete both Part 1: e-Learning Modules and Part 2: In-Person Session to receive the full SGOOD Certificate of Completion, recognised under GovernWell: Excellence in Charity Leadership. However, you may complete Part 1 first and register for Part 2 at a later date once your schedule becomes clearer.

Q: Must I complete Part 1 before registering for Part 2?
A: No. You may register for Part 2 before completing Part 1. However, participants are strongly encouraged to complete the e-Learning modules before attending the Part 2 session, as the In-Person Session builds on concepts and case studies drawn from the 10 e-Learning modules.

Q: What does Part 1: e-Learning Modules include?
A: Part 1 comprises 10 self-paced e-Learning modules covering key areas of nonprofit governance, including board leadership, board-management dynamics, strategy, human capital, fundraising, financial governance, risk governance, user-centric services and future-ready governance.

Q: How is each e-Learning module structured?
A: Each module is delivered asynchronously and consists of three video segments, followed by a 10-question quiz to assess participants’ understanding.

Q: How long will I have access to the e-Learning modules?
A: Participants will have access to the e-Learning modules from the date of registration or 1 July 2026, whichever is later, until 15 June 2027 at 12:00 PM.

Q: What are the completion requirements for Part 1?
A: Participants must watch all video segments in full and achieve at least 70% in the quiz in each module. A module will only be marked as complete once both requirements have been met.

Q: Can I retake the quizzes?
A: Yes. Participants may attempt the quizzes multiple times until they achieve the required passing score.

Q: Will I receive partial CPD hours if I complete only some modules?
A: No. CPD hours for Part 1 will only be awarded after participants complete all 10 e-Learning modules.

Q: What does Part 2: In-Person Session involve?
A: Part 2 is a full-day facilitated peer-learning session. Participants will discuss real-world case studies drawn from the e-Learning Modules, apply governance principles through practical, scenario-based discussions and learn from the experiences of fellow board directors.

Q: How many CPD hours will I receive?
A: Participants will receive 16 CPD hours upon completing Part 1 and 8 CPD hours upon completing Part 2. CPD hours are awarded separately for each respective part.

Q: When will I receive the SGOOD Certificate of Completion?
A: Participants will receive the full SGOOD Certificate of Completion only after successfully completing both Part 1 and Part 2.
